IRVINE TAKEDA KARATE CLUB CONSTITUTION
1. Name:
The club is name "Irvine Takeda Karate Club" Takeda in Japanese means "warrior rice patty"
2. Objectives of the club:
The objectives of the club are to study karate and develop the spirit of Karate
3. Membership:
a. All members must agree to accept this constitution and such rules, regulations and by-laws as may be in force
b. All members of the club must, within six weeks of first attending training, take individual membership of the North Ayrshire Sports Karate Association (NASKA), to which the club is affiliated.
c. All memberships are renewable on an annual basis
d. Membership may be refused or withdrawn from any individual whose conduct or attitude is considered to be detrimental to the club or to Karate as a whole. Any individual in this position has the right to appeal against dismissal within one month of the imposition of the ban and will be granted a hearing within 2 weeks of lodging the appeal. The appeal decision will be regarded as final.
4. Management of the club:
a. Training sessions
I. All training sessions will take place under adult supervision. At least one black belt grade will be present in the club at all times.
II. All students must be presentable and considerate towards the instructors and other students at all times.
b. Gradings
The dates for gradings will be notified in advance. Gradings up to 1st Kyu will be conduced by club instructors. Black belt gradings will be conducted by a panel convened by the North Ayrshire Sports Karate Association. There is no appeal procedure for failure at gradings & the panel's decision is regarded as final.
c. Insurance
The club will carry full indemnity insurance to cover accidental injury within the dojo
d. First Aid Cover
A registered first aider will be present at all training sessions
e. Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults
All adult black belt grades will be fully disclosure checked
5. Rules And Regulations:
a. Etiquette is a code of conduct essential to the proper and safe practice of Martial Arts. As such, all training sessions should be conducted in a spirit of trust, respect and self discipline.
b. Smoking, swearing and disrespect towards instructors and other students is at all times forbidden in the dojo/training hall.
c. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not, under any circumstances, be allowed to train.
d. The Club instructor reserves the right to review any rules and regulations necessary for the safe and efficient management of the club. Any such changes or additions should be incorporated into the constitution within one month.
e. Students should make every effort to attend classes on time.
f. Instructors should not be called by their first names at any time whilst in the dojo/training hall.
g. Students should do their utmost to carry out training as laid down by the Instructor. All commands should be carried out quickly and efficiently.
h. No unnecessary talking is permitted during training sessions.
i. Mobile phones must be switched off or placed on silent unless authorized by one of the Instructors.
j. For safety reasons all items of jewellery must be removed before training commences.
6. Amendments to the Constitution:
Any proposals for amendments to the constitution should be forwarded to the Club's Instructors in writing for consideration. Any formal amendments will be accepted in writing and incorporated into the full constitution within one month of acceptance.

Payment of the appropriate membership fees of the North Ayrshire Sport Karate Association will be construed as acceptance of this constitution.
